Luzo Camera

Designed by H.J. Redding
Manufactured by J. Robinson and Sons, London
ca 1894
Ex-collection: Michael Kramer

A relatively little known camera, the Luzo is reputed to be the first roll film camera made in England. It was finely crafted of Spanish Mahogany and has an abundance of brass fittings on the corners and elsewhere. When introduced in 1889, the Luzo was referred to as “the ‘New’ Detective camera”. It’s large sector shutter is rather unique.
