Kombi Graphoscope
Manufactured By Alfred C. Kemper
Chicago, Illinois
Ca. 1892
Made in time for the Columbian Exposition in Chicago, the Kombi was a box-form miniature camera for 25 exposures, 1 1/8” in diameter on roll film. The transparent film was specially produced for the camera by the Eastman Kodak Co. It had a Fixed aperture meniscus lens with a diaphragm shutter. With the back removed, the Kombi could be used as a viewer for negatives or transparencies, hence the name. A considerable number of Kombis were produced, advertisements in 1896 claimed that 50,000 had been sold in one year.
